These terms apply when you use Alongside Events. The platform is operated by Roman Kucheryavyy and Anna Kucheryava (“we,” “us”) under Alongside Coffee, based in Auburn, Washington, USA, alongside our mobile coffee bar of the same name. By creating an operator account or running an event on the platform, you agree to these terms.
You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your login safe; don’t share credentials with anyone outside your business. You agree the operator account will be used by adults (18+) and that you have the legal authority to bind the business you’re registering on behalf of.
First event — free. Every operator gets one event at no charge. No card required.
Per event — $30. Each event after the first costs $30, charged via Stripe when you upgrade the event to the paid tier. Adds AI signature drinks for the couple, custom theme + background effects, label printing integration, the live couple dashboard, and Instagram-story recap share.
Studio — $79/month. Unlimited events, plus the client CRM and operator analytics. For operators booking 2+ events a month who want Alongside to replace their booking spreadsheet. Cancel anytime; future months aren’t charged after cancellation.
We don’t take a cut of your drink sales. Per-event / subscription pricing covers the platform itself: ordering, barista mode, SMS, the recap microsite, photos, signage, analytics. Drink prices are between you and your couples.
You can request a refund of any paid event from the event’s Controls tab. Roman reads every refund request himself; most go through within one business day. The refunded plan_tier flips back to free automatically once Stripe processes the refund.
Studio subscriptions are non-refundable for past months but you can cancel any time and won’t be charged for future months.
Don’t scrape data across operators. Don’t upload content that violates someone else’s rights or privacy. Don’t use the platform to harass, defraud, or deceive anyone. Don’t attempt to break the service for other users, and don’t attempt to access another operator’s event data. Don’t use the platform to facilitate the sale of regulated substances.
Allergen information shown on the menu is supplied by you (the operator). Alongside Events is the platform displaying your menu — not the supplier of the drinks themselves. You are responsible for the accuracy of allergen tags on your menu items and modifier options, and for verbally confirming allergens with any guest who asks at the cart.
The platform’s default seed menu ships with allergen tags filled in for common items (latte = milk; oat milk = wheat; almond = tree-nuts). You can adjust these per-item. The guest order flow displays a “Heads up — this drink contains” summary on the configure step plus a disclaimer that allergen info is operator-supplied and may not be exhaustive.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim, damage, or liability arising from your supplied allergen information being incomplete, inaccurate, or misrepresented in person.
SMS is opt-in by guests, only via the QR ordering flow. The guest checks an unchecked-by-default consent box at order time before the order can submit. The single transactional text reads “<your business name>: your <drink> is ready … Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.” The first line uses the business name on your operator profile (or “Alongside” as a fallback if the field is empty). STOP and HELP keywords are honored automatically. Message and data rates may apply on the guest’s carrier.
Walk-up orders (taken at the cart by a barista) do not collect a phone number. The platform deliberately omits the field on every walk-up surface so the SMS path only ever runs against a guest-supplied, guest-consented number from QR ordering. This protects both you and us from TCPA exposure that cashier-as-proxy phone collection would create.
We do not send marketing SMS to guests. The only outbound SMS is the order-ready notification a guest explicitly consented to. A2P 10DLC registration is in progress; once complete, the message-sender registration covers all operator events nationwide. You agree not to use the platform to send unsolicited or marketing SMS to guests.
Operator obligation: at events that use QR ordering with SMS, you should make a brief notice available at the cart (e.g. on signage near the QR) that up to two texts (an order confirmation and a “your drink is ready” alert) will be sent if the guest provides a number + ticks the consent box. The QR page itself contains the disclosure; the at-cart notice is belt-and-suspenders.
Guests upload photos and short notes from their own phones. Photos are stored privately by default — nothing appears on the recap microsite or photo wall until you (the operator) approve it.
The upload flow requires the guest to affirm that everyone in the photo is okay being shared on the couple’s keepsake page, and that any minors in the photo have guardian permission. This consent is required before the photo can be submitted, but you (the operator) are the final moderation gate. If a photo seems inappropriate, unsafe, or features a person you can’t reasonably confirm consent for, leave it pending or reject it.
Couples may report individual photos from the recap microsite using the in-place report button; reported photos are pulled from the public surface immediately and returned to your moderation queue.
The paid tier’s “AI signature drinks” feature uses Anthropic’s Claude model to propose drink names + descriptions based on a structured questionnaire the couple fills in. We apply a content-safety post-check on the model output that substitutes a generic placeholder for any name/description containing forbidden terms (slurs, profanity, sexual content). Despite both Anthropic’s built-in safety and our post-check, AI systems occasionally produce unexpected output.
You agree that the operator and the couple share final editorial control over which AI-generated drinks appear on the menu. The keep / discard step on the couple page exists for that reason. We are not responsible for AI-generated content the couple chooses to keep on their menu and publish to their recap.
Your logo, cart photo, and any assets you upload are stored on our infrastructure and used to render your recap microsites and printable signage. You grant us the license to do that. You retain ownership. When you delete an event, its event-scoped content is removed; operator-level brand assets persist on your account until you remove them.
You represent that you have the right to upload everything you upload (logos, cart photos, menu item photos). Don’t upload trademarks, logos, or images you don’t own or have a license to use.
The paid tier supports label/sticker printing when a compatible printer is configured on your cart. Hardware setup is your responsibility; we publish integration notes and a reference Raspberry Pi setup. Printer outages don’t affect order intake — a failed print is surfaced as a reprint prompt in barista mode.
We’ll do our best to keep the service running during your events. Live-event support is our highest priority. That said, internet services aren’t perfect — please have a paper menu fallback for critical moments. Alongside Events is not warranted to be uninterrupted or error-free.
You can delete an event any time from its Controls tab; that removes every order, photo, review, and message tied to that event permanently. You can cancel your operator account at any time. If we ever need to suspend or terminate your account for abuse, we’ll let you know and give you a reasonable window to export your data.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). NEITHER PARTY IS LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless against any third-party claim arising from (a) your use of the service, (b) your menu and allergen information, (c) your moderation of guest content, (d) AI-generated content you chose to keep, or (e) your breach of these terms.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS or AAA in Washington State, USA, under their then-current consumer arbitration rules. You and we both waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in any class, consolidated, or representative action. If a court finds this waiver unenforceable, the entire arbitration clause is severable and the dispute proceeds in the state or federal courts of King County, Washington.
Either party may pursue claims in small-claims court for disputes within that court’s jurisdictional limits without going to arbitration first.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
We may update these terms over time. Material changes will be announced in-product. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated terms.
